Pottery Care
Thank you for choosing handcrafted pottery from our collection. Each piece is made with care and deserves a little attention to keep it looking its best. Here’s everything you need to know to care for your pottery:
General Care Tips
Handle with Care: Our pottery is durable, but like all ceramics, it can chip or break if dropped or knocked.
Avoid Sudden Temperature Changes: Do not move pottery directly from a hot oven to a cold surface or vice versa. Sudden temperature shifts may cause cracking.
Cleaning Instructions
Hand Wash Recommended: Although many of our pieces are dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing to extend their lifespan.
Use Mild Detergents: Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers. A soft sponge and gentle soap are ideal.
Stain Removal: For tough stains, soak the item in a mix of baking soda and warm water before gently scrubbing.
Microwave & Oven Use
Microwave Safe (unless otherwise stated): Most of our pottery is microwave safe, but avoid prolonged heating.
Oven Use: Only oven-safe labeled items should be used in the oven, and they must be placed in a cold oven and heated gradually.
Storage Tips
Stack with Caution: When stacking, place a soft cloth or paper towel between pieces to prevent scratches or chipping.
Dry Thoroughly: Ensure pottery is fully dry before storing, especially if stacking or placing in closed cabinets.
Special Care for Glazed Pieces
Crazing is Natural: Hairline cracks in the glaze, known as “crazing,” may appear over time and are not defects—they add to the character of handmade pottery.
Avoid Prolonged Soaking: Prolonged contact with water may weaken the glaze or absorb moisture. Always dry thoroughly after washing.
Sustainable & Timeless
Our pottery is built to last a lifetime with proper care. By treating your pieces with love and attention, you’re supporting traditional craftsmanship and reducing waste.
